For many years students from eastern Indonesia had to migrate to Java and other urban centers to pursue higher education degrees. The presence of the Sumbawa University of Technology (UTS) offers the opportunity to study in the region, not only for Indonesian students but also for international learners, slowly shifting the distribution trends of higher education access towards a better relevance and impact on the region’s development. So far, 4 international learners successfully graduated from the Master’s degree program at UTS, and now we are ready to receive more international students. We are excited to announce that 6 international students were admitted to UTS as part of the Global Ambassador Scholarship program (U-GAS) for the academic year 2022/2023.
In this opportunity, UTS sought talented international students to join the Master’s Program in Management Innovation. After an exhaustive examination, the committee of admission to the scholarship has selected the best candidates from diverse nationalities. Colombia, France, Spain, Morocco, Pakistan, and Yemen are the nationalities of the new learners. Sumbawa has a lot to offer to foreign students, and at the same time much to learn from them. Education is a reciprocal exchange and we are committed to doing it globally. At UTS, we value the plurality of perspectives because diversity nourishes and enriches the learning environment.
The new students are expected to arrive in Sumbawa in February 2023. In the meantime, they started studying online and besides their courses, UTS designed a 3 months orientation program to provide the students with the necessary tools to help them to make the most out of the scholarship. We believe that studying abroad is an immersive experience where learning goes beyond the classroom. Master’s students will have the chance to immerse themselves in the local dynamics of Sumbawa and use their skills and talents to search for innovative solutions to local and global issues through research, science and innovation. The Master’s program will help the international young professionals to excel and accelerate their careers.
Although in this opportunity the scholarship was only available for Master’s students, UTS offers a wide range of academic programs and welcomes students from all over the world.
